Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has opened its first retail environment and Holosonics is honored they chose Audio Spotlight speakers to enhance their in-store virtual reality experience! Mark Zuckerberg shared his excitement for showcasing Meta products on their California campus as a way for people to touch and experience the products first-hand, and he can be seen enjoying the installation himself. While using a Meta Quest 2 headset for VR, an array of Audio Spotlight speakers beam down the accompanying sound from overhead, so visitors experience a shared visual and audio experience.
The Meta store’s creative installation was designed so that spectators can be drawn into the virtual world that the user is experiencing. This ingenious approach used six AS-24ix speakers to relay the audio to a listening area while a massive, curved wall showcases the video, so a singular Meta Quest experience can become entertaining for a crowd and a perfect way to sell their product. With the focused sound of the Audio Spotlight speakers concentrated solely on the listening area, the rest of the store stays a quiet, calm environment for those shoppers not currently engaged with the virtual reality.
Holosonics is thrilled to see our patented directional sound technology used in conjunction with Meta’s revolutionary technology in such an innovative and imaginative capacity to showcase their products and drive sales. As technology advances and the metaverse expands, we look forward to other new and exciting applications of using Audio Spotlight to connect people through shared experiences.
