Audio Spotlight directional speaker technology is helping to maximize rest and recuperation for patients at the Mission Health Hospital in Asheville, NC. Over 200 touchless Audio Spotlight speakers were installed in patient rooms at the medical center's North Tower, where hospitalized individuals can now rest comfortably without being disturbed by TV audio that can only be heard by visitors in the room's guest seating area.
The AS-24i directional speakers were installed over the guest seating area in each room to allow visitors to watch TV without disturbing their loved ones as they rest, and even as they sleep, just inches away. Each 24-inch square hands-free Audio Spotlight speaker panel at the hospital seamlessly replaced a standard drop ceiling tile in 220 patient rooms, to deliver sound in a narrow beam to the seating area directly below.
For its use in medical centers and hospitals such as North Carolina's Mission Hospital and other healthcare facilities, the flexible and self-powered Audio Spotlight directional speaker is a powerful tool, ensuring that isolated audio is provided to visitors, while keeping the surrounding area peacefully quiet, clean, and safe for patients who are recuperating.

Audio Spotlight touchless directional sound technology is playing a crucial role in maintaining a sanitary environment and occupying the attention of patients at the Deschutes Pediatric Dentistry center in Bend, Oregon. Audio-visual systems integrator Audio Visual Bend installed a ceiling mounted AS-168i speaker and video monitor directly above each of the 12 patient chairs in this pediatric dentistry office.
With multiple children being treated several feet away from each other in an open space setting, each Audio Spotlight speaker beams focused sound directly at an individual patient without any sound bleeding into adjacent areas just a step or two away.
The implementation of touchless directional sound allows the staff to conduct cleanings, treat cavities, and perform other dental procedures while children watch and listen to streaming Roku programming. The owner, Steve Christensen, DMD, was eager to replace the unsanitary and cumbersome Bluetooth headphone system that was previously in use in his treatment rooms.

Responding to an increasing demand for chemotherapy services, The Vanderbilt University Medical Center added a new clinic consisting of nearly 100 beds to their cancer center. With a unique new approach intentionally focusing on increasing patient comfort, VUMC included flat screen televisions in every room.
After careful consideration, Vanderbilt found the Audio Spotlight directional audio system to be the best solution for providing TV sound to their patients, without the noise problems associated with traditional loudspeakers, or the hassle and hazard of headphones and pillow speakers. The Audio Spotlight directional speakers have been praised by patients and staff alike, and Vanderbilt plans on continuing to use them as they expand their facilities.

When Winchester Hospital broke ground on their brand-new cancer treatment facility on Washington Street, a primary goal was to make the transfusion process as painless as possible for their patients. Despite the completely open-concept layout of the treatment floor, television screens were added at every seat position – 28 in total. Audio Spotlight focused sound speakers installed directly above each provided a narrow beam of sound to every patient independently, despite being only a few short steps away from one another.
Any patient that wants to watch their own choice in programming can do so without bothering any other patient that prefers a different programming, or to simply read, or even sleep comfortably. The nursing staff, whose own desk stations are also scattered about the open floor, have truly come to appreciate the peace and quiet afforded by the Audio Spotlight directional sound speakers, and the tranquility of the facility atmosphere.
Winchester selected the Audio Spotlight AS-24i model, due to its ease of installation. The speaker panels each replaced a standard 24" ceiling tile by dropping straight onto the existing grid without any additional necessary hardware or causing any architectural disruption.
